Phyllis Youga


Professional Bio

 

 

 

 

 

Phyllis J. Youga holds a Masters degree in Communication Sciences from Western Michigan University and a Bachelors degree in Communication from Hillsdale College.

She has more than 25 years work experience in private and public sector businesses and is currently Marketing, Public Relations and Customer Service Manager for Sturgis Hospital. Special areas of interest include organizational communications, events management, and customer relations. She conducted the first nationwide survey on sexual harassment training practices; conducted surveys on customer service; focus groups on pricing of services; and organizational communication assessments for both private and state agencies.

For the past 10 years, Phyllis has been a part-time college instructor. She has taught public speaking, speech, English, remedial writing and reading, and computer courses at Glen Oaks Community College and currently teaches interpersonal communication. She has also taught Interpersonal Communication at Western Michigan University for three years. In addition, Phyllis is a State of Michigan qualified volunteer mediator for the Counties of Cass, Berrien and St. Joseph, Michigan.
